Biography
Weimar originated from an experimental collaboration between Aidan Cross, Johann Kloos and Brian Benson called The Bus Pass, which played a series of improvisational shows between 2013-2015. As the band's sonic jams crystallized into more fully-realized songs, the project gradually evolved into what would become Weimar, with John Armstrong on bass and Anthony 'Eddy' Edwards on drums. Debuting on the live circuit in late 2016, the quartet played a series of gigs throughout 2017-19 and built a loyal following.

After being featured in Louder Than War's list of 50 new bands to watch for 2019, Weimar released their debut single, the double A-side "John Doe/Curse The Songs" in February 2019, produced by Simon 'Ding' Archer (Pixies/The Fall/PJ Harvey) and accompanied by promo videos directed by Nikos Pavlou. After a successful launch gig at The Eagle in Salford, the band entered the studio to begin work on their first album, following with another single "Marvel To The State/Undesirable Master" in November, featuring the guest vocals of Rose Niland (Rose & the Diamond Hand/Poppycock). Their increasing success led to a slot supporting Goth legends Skeletal Family in January 2020, now with Stephen Sarsen on guitar.

After its completion was delayed by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the band's album, "Dancing On A Volcano", was finally released in June 2022, preceded by the single "The Girls Of LA". Both single and album received widespread international critical acclaim, including coverage in Record Collector, Vive le Rock and The Big Takeover, and the album was ranked by Sound & Vision as #10 best album of the year and #2 best debut of 2022 in their end of year charts. The release of the album was followed by a series of videos to accompany each song, compiled on the band's YouTube channel in 2023 as "Dancing On A Volcano: The Movie".

Weimar are currently working on the writing and demoing of new material for their second album.
